Increase SEO Adsense revenue
What's the secret to making money with Google's AdSense program you say? Its easy.
You only need to know about AdSense:
revenue = clicks * average rate per click
This tells you all you need to know to make money on AdSense. Want to earn more with AdSense? The formula tells you to either:
1) Increase clicks, and/or 2) Increase the average rate per click
Of course it's best if both go up, but it may be hard to focus on both. Of course it's an obvious formula, but common sense nearly always pays of. Well, in this business it does.
Increase Adsense clicks - increase traffic
Increasing the number of times the ads are clicked is like kicking an open door. You can either :
1. Increase site traffic, and/or
2. Adjust the ads to get a better click-rate
If you've read some articles on this topic, getting traffic is hard and it will take time. Make sure to have good content. If what you have is useful and unique content, get your site to rank highly in search engine rankings using the right keywords and meta data. So, just standard search engine optimization techniques.
And you can:
1. Publish on other sites, with links back to your site.
2. Participate in forums related to your site. The key is to add value, not just post messages promoting your site.
3. Include a link to your site in signatures (forum posts).
4. Comment on other people's blogs, try link back to yours.
5. List your site in relevant directories.
Increase rate per click - adjust the ads
1. Choose the best AdSense ad formats
Google says "If positioned well, these ad formats can increase your earnings significantly. The formats we've found to be the most effective are the 336x280 Large Rectangle, the 300x250 Medium Rectangle, and the 160x600 Wide Skyscraper."
2. Position ads to make them more noticeable. You may have heard about the heat map (see https://www.google.com/support/adsense/bin/static.py?page=tips.html ).
3. I change the ad colors either to make them blend in with site and content. But depending on your site it may be best to have the ads stand out. Whatever you do, don't leave them as is.
Adsense WARNING
Whatever you do, NEVER ask users to click the ads. Google is very strict about this, see the AdSense program policies (found at https://www.google.com/adsense/policies ) for the details.
Increasing the average rate per click you receive from AdSense is the other way to go for increasing your overall AdSense earnings. You can implement this strategy by:
1. Target content, and/or
2. Avoiding low-paying ads
Increase rate per click - target content
Content targeting is writing content using keywords to target the higher-paying Adwords associated. So you have to figure out which keyword variations for your topic pay more. Be sure to check for the specialized variations and phrases which pay more than the "generic" terms. Make sure the keyword density in your content favors the higher-paying keyword variations. Check out this example, theseo / keyword related as well!
Increase rate per click - avoid lower-paying ads
To reduce the occurrence of lower-paying ads, consider these strategies: 1. Use AdSense's mechanisms to filter out the ads that you don't want. 2. Show fewer ads on a page. The fewer ads you show, the more the higher-paying ads get displayed and clicked. You may also display others' ads and get some money there.
As you can see, only common sense involved to increase your AdSense revenue. The AdSense formula is easy to understand but it may take time to apply the formula, just like in real life.

HTML5 and SEO
I remember HTML came into being during my college years, a time I remember by 14k4 modems, gopher servers and rather huge phone bills.
Then I downloaded something called Netscape and everything changed. HTML (HyperText Markup Language) took the world by storm. Now, any ordinary user may never have heard of different HTML versions, but if you are trying to make money out of SEO, you just need to know.
The webpage layout as the user sees it, may not dramatically change immediately, but never forget your page's structure and content is analyzed by computers all the time.
So, any markup changes can and will have effect on SEO, Google Adsense placement etc; from lowering or increasing load time by reducing HTML code, to identifying the key elements of a page.
Not only that, but it is important to know how page link placement should be carried out, and how search engines will change their view on certain links if the site is coded in HTML 5.
HTML5 introduces new tags to enhance structure in web pages. There will be a <header> tag to identify the header, <nav> for navigation and <article> for content. Then there will be tags that enable interactive content without having to use a Flash Player-plugin, like the <video> tag.
Then, improvements to the DOM (Document Object Model) should lead to shorter load times.
Then I've also read HTML5 would enable apps to function when you're not online, cause certain files are loaded on a first visit. Then, when you've worked offline, the info is sent to the server once online traffic is possible.
So if you're into SEO, make sure to follow HTML5, it'll impact your Adsense business.

Content Planning
Planning the content of a site may be a project on its own. You need first to make assumptions on what will be of most value to visitors. No one knows your business better than you, that's why outsourcing may not be wise. To help you, there are quite a few tools to your aid. You will be able to use these tools to decide on which information will be most important for a website at what stage.
Mindmapping
You could start using a mindmapping tool to structure your thoughts and organize your content. Try Freemind for instance. I prefer MindManager, from Mindjet. Its a nice way to get and stay in control of your content creating process. Mindmapping graphically presents your thoughts associated with a certain subject. Its also a big help when creating a plan with objectives, results, tasks, subtasks etc.
You want to focus on Adsense?
Primary and secondary content
The content of your site must be determined by the type of site and your objective. For instance, a site that is about navigation equipment would most likely have descriptions , specification information and reviews on the products around. Secondary content could be comparisons of equipment from various manufacturers, articles on navigation emerging technology, or news about adventure & trekking events. The secondary content serves as a funnel for visitors with a broader or more specific interest. When they're thinking about a purchase, they will seek out the primary product-related information. The website will have built up a level of credibility with the customer by being an expert in the field. So, they'll click your ads (the ones in the primary area likely being product-related, thus higher valued) , subscribe to your newsletter and return for more.
And just one more thing: planning is a good thing, but don't take it too far. You need remain flexible.

Content Planning - 2
Another thing when planning for content is determining the content change rate. Depending on your chosen topic and the type of site, content change is expected. The information on a product-related site will likely need to be updated on a more frequent basis than the information on a museum site. If this is not done right, you won't be very successful online. And if you don't get visitors, your Adsense ads will not be clicked! But there's help. First, you need to get the basics right and choose a Content Management System (CMS). Read more in the Yours For Free section.
This will give you a user-friendly system for website updates. Content publishing using a CMS is not a hassle and you won't need a programmer anymore. You need only be familiar with a word-processor program, and a browser.
Now if you want to be comfortable, plan and produce your content in advance. I have developed and used a 3 months schedule you am doing fine. And this may well be a good starting point for you as well. But, do not start planning just yet, you need to do a bit more. You have to stay flexible enough and be able to adapt to site usage: you need statistics and reporting. Additionally to tools like Google Analytics you can enable users to rate or comment on your content. This may be a risk, but it could do you much good as well.
Stable and tryout sections
If you're a fresh-starter my advice is: don't do everything at once. First start with a basic content tree, what your site is about. Check your reports / feedback and improve. You need to test which mix of content works best for your users. Do not be afraid listening to them: it may be painful, but it will likely improve your ratings and income. So, for the "stable" sections, plan and develop content in advance, for the "tryout" sections, do short test-cycles. If you got registered viewers, why email them and ask for feedback? Most people simply like to help and don't need anything in return for a favor.
I would advise to set goals on the number of pageviews each week. You'll learn to set at a realistic level, so that they can be achieved, at the same time you need to be challenged. If you haven't been able to reach your target for 4 weeks, think about a less challenging setting. On the other hand, if that means you're getting nowhere, maybe its time to re-think. Are you providing the right content? In the right form? Think through your site formule: what are you providing, for whom, in what way ... is what you are doing unique and attractive?

Content - Topic
If you have good quality content on your site, there's a greater chance of seeing search results come up higher.
It’s of course better to fill your site with page after page of the good stuff, each page containing ad units and opportunities to earn revenue. So try and write it yourself. Pick a subject you like, care, know about and pour it out.
Content - Type
If you know everything there is to know about home improvement, set up a site stuffed with tool reviews, news and howto's, and write all the articles yourself. Your AdSense units will give you ads related to home improvement and if they are positioned properly they should give you revenue to fund your hobby and more. But, choose any topic you like.
Got it going? Then do a newsletter and lead your visitors back to your site. Maybe start a forum to enable them to share.
Examples
Some examples (while you're at it, check out their adsense ad placement & formatting. Try to figure out what will or will not work for you):
And just one more thing: Its important to involve your users.
For instance: for instance, let them post their content, allow them to easily post your content on social media.
